Privacy Policy
Your celebrations are personal. This policy explains what we collect when you create and share an invitation, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Last updated 5 October 2026
1. Who we are
Manavizha Invitations ("we", "us", "our") is a digital invitation service available at invitation.manavizha.com, operated by Akmo Solutions Private Limited, a company incorporated in India with GSTIN 33ABDCA4126G1Z5, registered in Tamil Nadu. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), we are the Data Fiduciary for the account data we collect from you.
Manavizha Invitations is a separate product from the Manavizha matrimony service at manavizha.com. It has its own accounts, and we do not share your invitation data with the matrimony service.
This policy is published in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the DPDP Act.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Account information
- Your name, email address and/or mobile number, used to sign in and contact you.
- Your language preference and basic account settings.
- Your plan, purchase history and invoice details (such as billing name and state, for GST).
2.2 Invitation content
When you design an invitation, you may add:
- Names of the hosts, couple, family members and other people being honoured.
- Photographs, including photographs of other people.
- Event dates, times, venue names, addresses and map locations.
- Personal messages, wording, blessings and family details.
- Audio you upload (on Premium and Royal plans) and videos (on Royal).
Information about other people. When you add another person's name, photograph, address or other details to an invitation, you are responsible for making sure you have their consent or are otherwise entitled to share that information. If someone asks us to remove information about them, we may contact you or remove it in line with section 11.
2.3 Guest and RSVP information
When a guest responds to an invitation, we collect what they choose to enter in the RSVP form: typically their name, mobile number, number of attendees, attendance status, meal preference and a message for the hosts. This information is shared with the host who created the invitation. For guest RSVP data, the host decides why it is collected, and we process it on the host's behalf to deliver the RSVP feature.
2.4 Payment information
Payments are processed by Cashfree Payments India Private Limited. Your card, UPI or net-banking details are entered on Cashfree's secure pages and are not stored on our servers. We receive only an order reference, the payment status, the amount, the payment method type and limited details needed for reconciliation, refunds and tax invoices.
2.5 Usage and device information
- Log data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and timestamps.
- Aggregated invitation statistics (for example, how many times an invitation was opened). On the Royal plan, the guest list and WhatsApp share tracker records which share links were opened.
- Privacy-respecting analytics that help us understand which features are used and fix problems.
3. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and sign you in securely.
- To build, store, display and deliver your invitations, including music, maps, countdowns and RSVPs.
- To process payments, activate plans, issue GST invoices and handle refunds.
- To send service messages such as receipts, RSVP notifications, plan expiry reminders and security alerts.
- To provide customer support and design help (including over WhatsApp, if you contact us that way).
- To detect, prevent and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents and violations of our Terms of Use.
- To improve our templates, languages and features using aggregated, non-identifying data.
- To comply with legal obligations, including tax, accounting and lawful requests from authorities.
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you create an account or use our features, and for legitimate uses permitted under the DPDP Act, such as complying with law. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your invitation content or your guests' data for advertising.
4. Shared invitation links are viewable by anyone with the link
Invitations are made to be shared. When you publish an invitation, it gets a unique web link. Please understand that:
- Anyone who has the link can view the invitation, including names, photographs, venue details and any other content you included. Guests can forward the link to others.
- Links are unlisted. We do not publish them in a public directory, and we ask search engines not to index them. However, we cannot control what happens once a link has been shared.
- On the Royal plan, you can protect an invitation with a password so that only guests who know the password can open it.
- You can unpublish or delete an invitation from your dashboard at any time.
Please think carefully before including sensitive details, such as a home address, in a shared invitation.
5. Sharing with service providers
We share personal data only with service providers who help us run the service, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only for that purpose:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication and file storage (photos, audio, invitation data) |
| Vercel | Website hosting and content delivery |
| Cashfree Payments | Payment processing, refunds and payment fraud checks |
| Google Maps (embedded) | Showing venue maps and directions on invitations |
| Google Fonts | Delivering typefaces for invitations in English and Indian languages |
When a guest views a map or the page loads fonts, Google may receive the viewer's IP address and browser information under Google's own privacy policy. Some providers may store data on servers outside India; where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the data is protected, subject to any restrictions notified by the Government of India under the DPDP Act.
We may also disclose information if required by law, court order or a lawful request from a government authority, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or Akmo Solutions Private Limited. If our business is reorganised or transferred, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
6. Data retention
- Invitations: each invitation stays live for the validity period of its plan, counted from the last event date on the invitation. Free invitations are automatically and permanently deleted, together with their photos, album, audio and video, 15 days after the event. Premium (1 year) and Royal (3 years) invitations are deleted in the same way when the plan's validity ends. We email the owner a few days before deletion so they can upgrade or save what they need. If an invitation has a paid order, we keep only a minimal record (its title and order details) for the invoice.
- RSVPs and guest data: deleted together with the invitation they belong to, including any reminder email address or phone notification subscription a guest chose to give. Hosts can export their RSVP list before then, and can delete individual responses at any time.
- Account: kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your invitations and personal data within 30 days, apart from what we must keep by law.
- Payment and invoice records: kept for up to 8 years as required by tax and accounting laws (including GST), even after the invitation itself is deleted.
- Logs: security and server logs are generally kept for up to 180 days.
- Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis, usually within 30 days.
7. Children
Our service is meant for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children. Invitations for children's events (such as naming ceremonies or birthdays) must be created by a parent or lawful guardian, who is responsible for the child's details and photographs included. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable security practices consistent with the IT (Reasonable Security Practices) Rules, 2011, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls on our database and storage, password-free or hashed authentication, restricted staff access and monitoring for misuse. No online service can be completely secure, so please keep your sign-in details private. If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify affected users and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and local storage items:
- Essential: to keep you signed in, remember your editor progress and language, and protect against abuse. The service will not work properly without them.
- Analytics: to understand how the site is used in aggregate. We avoid cross-site tracking.
- Third-party: embedded Google Maps and the Cashfree checkout may set their own cookies.
We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings.
10. Your rights
Subject to the DPDP Act and other applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we process about you and how we process it.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data, and update your details.
- Erase your personal data, for example by deleting an invitation or your account.
- Withdraw your consent at any time. This will not affect processing already carried out, but we may no longer be able to provide the service.
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
- Seek redress for grievances, first with us and then with the Data Protection Board of India.
Most of these actions are available in your dashboard. You can also email support@manavizha.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Guests who want their RSVP changed or removed may contact the host directly or write to us.

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the rules made under it, and the DPDP Act, our Grievance Officer is:

12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when it last changed. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated policy.
